The Opportunity

  • Responsible for ensuring parts are coated properly according to customer specifications while meeting all quality standards.
  • Working collaboratively with our Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to diligently execute the mandate of SLEEGERS' Quality Program with mínimal oversight
  • Perform Chemical Testing and General Maintenance of the 3 Stage Pre-Treatment Equipment
  • Perform required quality checks including 1st piece, inprocess and final inspections
  • Assist with Part Loading determination for maximum line capacity. Change hanging patterns as needed. Understand curing differences between products to dictate line speed.
  • Conduct surveillance audits on Powder Coating associates to determine compliance
  • Final coating inspection and perform DFT, Tape Adhesion and MEK Cure Test verifications.
  • Anticipate potential issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Drives a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Recognizes waste streams and minimizes waste generation. Complies with safety procedures and environmental regulations when using, dispensing, and handling hazardous and nonhazardous materials and wastes.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including ability to write reports and summaries of events.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role at a manufacturing facility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office environment
  • Detail oriented and can effectively manage competing priorities
  • Understands Coating Quality Inspection Procedures, Tools and Equipment
  • Works without direct supervision to achieve objectives while maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Understands the importance of our high degree of product quality and compliance to health and safety standards
  • Postsecondary education in a related quality or engineering field, with previous experience in a manufacturing environment, is preferred
