Description

Job Purpose:
To facilitate opportunities for people to have a full and meaningful

quality of life.


Duties:


Person Directed Outcomes:


Initiate the gathering of information needed using a variety of techniques, from people we serve and their support networks, to gain an understanding of strengths, needs and goals.

Use this information to develop formal support plans that outline steps to achieving personal outcomes.


Human Resource Management:
Responsible for assessing and setting priorities in regards to human resource needs within the service areas assigned.

Supervise staffing teams and oversee service delivery schedules and approve corresponding payroll, delegate service delivery tasks, provide feedback and support and investigate and address concerns or issues.


Employee Development:
Provide leadership to employees by implementing strategies that foster ongoing opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

Provide supervision to employees and place emphasis on teaching, coaching and mentoring in order to develop and strengthen skills in supporting people to pursue and achieve their life goals.


Advocacy:
Promote the concept of inclusion and full community participation. Support each person served to seek out and achieve valued roles within community.


Administration:
Ensure that all required financial documentation is completed and remitted in a timely manner, reporting discrepancies according to policy. Ensure completion and secure storage of records and documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures and provincial requirements.


Communication and Relationships:
Build and maintain positive working relationships with families and support networks. Communicate necessary information to ensure holistic supports are present. Develop and foster trusting relationships with a variety of partners, including community members and agency partners.


Qualifications:


  • Degree in Social Sciences and/or Disability & Community Support diploma
  • Demonstrated ability to assist vulnerable people in achieving personal outcomes
  • 2 to 3 years previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position related to services for persons with an intellectual disability
  • Demonstrated commitment to community living
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand the problem and respond to various situations
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle with $2,000,000 3rd party liability insurance
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Professional Attitude
  • Must be a selfstarter who is able to multitask and be organized
  • Must be creative and innovative
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate and promote selfadvocacy
  • Able to take oncall phone in rotation

Salary:
$46,342.00-$47,276.00 per year
