Event Assistant

Purpose

The Event Assistant will report to the Director of Development. This role is integral to a successful major annual event at AdaptAbilities. They are responsible for taking on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of this event.

The conscientious Event Assistant will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Function

  • Collaborate with the Director of Development on planning, execution, and follow up of a major annual event
  • Provide administrative and project support for a major annual event
  • Performing general clerical duties including data entry, filing, and photocopying
  • Event registration, operations, set up and clean up
  • Perform other jobrelated activities as required

Qualifications:


  • Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma and little or no workrelated experience. May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization is an asset
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
Working Conditions

This is a temporary, full-time position from April 29, 2024, to July 19, 2024.

The start date for this position is flexible between April 22 and 29, 2024 and this position is a 12-week contract.

This position is based out of our Support Office and shifts are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.

International students are not eligible.

Compensation:
$18.39 to $19.47 per hour depending on experience and education
