Our senior population is growing fast and a vast majority desires to age in place, right at home.

Since 1998, Equinoxe LifeCare has been a pioneer in-home care services, offering our clients the best quality of care with our team of certified caregivers and nurses.

Equinoxe LifeCare launched a new program to make home care more accessible so that seniors who are starting to lose their independence can continue to live at home.

We are recruiting dedicated healthcare students who are available to offer a reassuring presence at night for seniors who are alone or suffering from a chronic condition.

You will play a crucial role in supporting our clients during overnight hours. This is your chance to gain a unique and invaluable experience that will significantly benefit your future healthcare career

It is important to remember that when you commit to a shift, you show up to our client's home.


Position Summary:

• Stay overnight at a client's home and enjoy a regular evening almost as you would at your own place. Limited personal care is required; it is primarily focused on social interaction and being vigilant in case of any issues while the client is sleeping.

Responsibilities include:

• Spend the night at the client's home, creating a homely atmosphere.
• Offer support with minor personal needs.
• Maintain vigilance and promptly report any observations to Care Managers.
• Follow Equinoxe Lifecare's guidelines meticulously.

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled in medical school or a healthcarerelated program (e.g., medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology)
• Compassionate and empathetic towards seniors.
• Excellent communication skills in English and/or French. Additional languages are an asset.
• While caregiving experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
• Knowledge or experience in specialized areas such as Alzheimer's/dementia, cancer care, palliative care, mental health support, or postoperative care is a plus.

Schedule:

• Night shifts during weekdays and weekends (for example: 8pm to 8am). A minimum of one shift per week is required.

• Client's home in Montreal.
