Job Summary:

The

Building Condition Assessor serves to be responsible for the evaluation of building components within our client's facilities.


In this role, you will:


  • Conduct elemental evaluations of building components for a variety of institutional clients across the country
  • Analyze building systems documented in photographs and extrapolate condition information
  • Collaborate alongside a broad, multidisciplinary consultant team and our client groups
  • Produce comprehensive building condition reports using audit software and clientdetermined templates
  • Complete data entry within established guidelines in clientspecified software (training will be provided)
  • Contribute to office endeavors and initiatives, including business development activities
  • Develop recladding strategies and present viable rehabilitation scenarios for the client
  • Prepare financial studies/life cycle costing for buildings
  • Coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Develop and maintain client base

You will be a great fit if:

  • You possess familiarity with building maintenance and repair with a focus on collaborative problem-solving based on life-cycle cost analysis
  • You completed a postsecondary program in applied science or engineering from an accredited University or college diploma
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' previous experience in a consulting or contracting firm (preferred)
  • You are registered as a Professional Engineer (preferred)
  • You have access to a reliable vehicle

Skills/abilities:


  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; including technical writing
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Thrives in a fastpaced, dynamic, teamoriented environment
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Good academic understanding of building components and familiarity with building codes and standards
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to work onsite and deal with subconsultants
