Full-Time, Temporary (CSJ)

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you We are currently searching for an
Assistant, CNIB Programs Reporting to the Program Lead, Community Engagement and Advocacy.

Your impact at CNIB:

Provides information to the residents of Saskatoon and area regarding summer programming for youth and people with sight loss.
Assists with the planning and implementation of programming for participants and special events.
Assists and provides guidance for individuals participating in the CNIB programming.
Tracks attendance of program participants.
Executes invitation calls and followup calls to participants.
Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations including answering calls and responding to inperson inquiries involving client service, special events and programming.
Performs general administrative duties as required.
Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
Administrative responsibilities in support of inperson inquiries involving CNIB programs and services.

Requirements:

Who you are:

Welldeveloped interpersonal and communications skills.
Proficient in Microsoft office software.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and execute a plan of action.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Professional attitude, selfstarter and flexible.
Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing sight loss.

We want to hear from you if you have:

Experience working with the public.
University or community college student preferred.
Related Fields of Study include social services, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service or equivalent work experience.
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Eligibility:

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs.

To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
