Full-Time, Temporary (CSJ)

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you We are currently searching for an
Assistant, CNIB Programs Reporting to the Program Lead, Community Engagement and Advocacy.


Your impact at CNIB:


  • Provides information to the residents of Saskatoon and area regarding summer programming for youth and people with sight loss.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of programming for participants and special events.
  • Assists and provides guidance for individuals participating in the CNIB programming.
  • Tracks attendance of program participants.
  • Executes invitation calls and followup calls to participants.
  • Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations including answering calls and responding to inperson inquiries involving client service, special events and programming.
  • Performs general administrative duties as required.
  • Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
  • Administrative responsibilities in support of inperson inquiries involving CNIB programs and services.

Requirements:


Who you are:


  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and execute a plan of action.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional attitude, selfstarter and flexible.
  • Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing sight loss.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience working with the public.
  • University or community college student preferred.
  • Related Fields of Study include social services, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service or equivalent work experience.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs.

To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must
:


  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
  • Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
