Position Overview:


This position is responsible for the receiving, kitting, staging, counting, issuing and returning of Turn Around & all other parts and materials for Oil Sands Operations and Projects while maintaining accurate recording of inventory transactions in inventory management database.

The position operates in various warehouses, laydown yards, cold storage tents and tool cribs. Position is responsible for working within the Inventory Count Team to complete the Annual Physical Inventory (API) count.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Support company environmental, health, safety, security practices and policies;
  • Specific accountabilities will include working safely with adherence to the Warehouse
  • Safety Program, environment, housekeeping, inventory segregation, inventory accuracy, technical training, and other agreed upon continuous improvement goals and objectives via the performance management process;
  • Be a participating member of the Oil Sands Warehouse Services Team that receives and distributes Turn Around (TA) materials and tools in a timely and costeffective manner; support non
  • Turn Around (TA) requirements as needed.
  • Ensure that the right goods, in right quantities, in the right condition, are delivered to the right place/person, at the right time;
  • Receipt of goods to ensure quality and correctness of vendor shipments;
  • Ensure materials are inspected and received into inventory, issue materials on an asrequired basis to end users with appropriate SAP coding to record the transaction;
  • Report shortages, damages, and deficiencies in a timely manner;
  • Works together with other warehouse team members, TA planners, TA maintenance team to ensure that TA materials at site meet timelines and schedules;
  • Run SAP reservation orders, pick and stage TA materials for pickup by end user;
  • Ensure documentation is completed for processing repair and return for all materials;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative, respectful, and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work various site teams and groups;
  • Perform other assignments or project work as required;
  • Other duties assigned to support the Oil Sands Warehouse Services Team;
  • Night Shift &/or Overtime may be required to meet Turn Around, plant emergencies or project requirements;
  • Complete the Annual Physical Inventory counts at locations as assigned.
  • Identify inventory & equipment and record in SAP;
  • Other accountabilities will include working safely with adherence to the Warehouse Safety Program, and may include assisting with: housekeeping, inventory segregation, inventory accuracy, technical training, and other agreed upon continuous improvement goals and objectives via the Nexen performance management process;
  • Assist with executing disposal strategy for inventory & equipment, utilizing the Authorization for Disposal process (AFD);
  • Other duties assigned to support the Oil Sands Warehouse Services Team.

Education & Experience:


  • Must have experience in performing Annual Inventory Counts
  • 35 years' warehousing and materials experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in at least one or more of the noted pieces of operating material handling equipment (forklifts, variable reach trucks, narrow aisle reach trucks).
  • Must have working knowledge of SAP Material Management module, MS Word, and Excel;
  • Must work well in a team environment;
  • Ability to multitask and operate under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal;
  • Able to work well with mínimal supervision;
  • Must have a valid driver's license and excellent driving abstract;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Parts Person experience is an asset;
  • Master Data experience with setting up materials is an asset;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean drivers abstract;
  • Must have CSTS20;
  • CSO/OSSA regional training certificates or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation;
  • H2S Alive (H2S Awareness would not be acceptable);
  • Must be able to complete D&A lab based testing;
  • Selfmotivated, reliable, flexible and proactive with an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
