About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

About you:

You are an SME of payment operations, a tech savvy expert in money movement and all of its complexities. You are results focused and remain calm in high volume environments where people come to you for answers. You take the time you need to think strategically but can execute quickly and dynamically. You see the full picture but can work in the details. You seek to understand and partner with your counterparts in the leadership team to understand the ever-changing business needs.


About the day to day:


  • Plan, organize, and direct departmental activities to meet the team's strategic objectives and targeted business results
  • Handle B2B escalations and manage production incidents to ensure closure within SLA including creation of Incident Reports
  • Serve as liaison and provide technical guidance to internal partners, coordinate resolution of issues and manage internal stake holder expectations
  • Develop procedures & incident management protocols and ensure they continue with proper documentation
  • Partner with the VP and participate in employee development, project management, process improvement, thorough and timely reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Monitor, coach and support team leads and create a climate where teamwork can flourish
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships while remaining current on industry trends, regulatory requirements and risk issues
  • Support Operations both during business hours and some offshift hours, including weekends as needed with a goal to evolve and develop a 24/7 support model

About you / qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 710 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 years change management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated history of leading and motivating teams towards results
  • Ability to communicate clearly and powerfully in both written and verbal format, and must have the ability to consult, engage and challenge with transparency and authenticity at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively clarify complex technical issues and concepts in a businessfriendly manner to various audiences.
  • Thorough understanding of payments products and the regulatory environment surrounding them
  • Prior experience preferred within Cards and Payments considered an asset
  • Excellent technical knowledge required credit card transaction process, working with databases, MS Office suite, SQL, Jira, Confluence
  • Strong understanding of payments, cards, merchant acquiring & accounting principles
  • Understanding of relational databases an asset
