Donor Relations Coordinator
The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) is seeking a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our Development team.

We're looking for someone who loves conversing with people, enjoys working with databases and being part of a forward-thinking fundraising team.

The role requires someone with outstanding attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism are a must.

The ability to work both independently and successfully in a team environment while building effective working relationships inside and outside the team is essential.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Enter donations into a database and generate timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts
  • Track and maintain positive relations with our monthly donors on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Execute followup activities for _In Memory_ and _In Tribute_ donors
  • Train and support volunteers
  • Generate reports for finance, Delta Bingo, OMHS Lotteries, fundraising metrics and mailing lists
  • Work with the Donor Relations Manager to prepare direct mail appeals and general correspondence
  • Maintain the online donation system
  • Provide administrative support to the Development Team as needed
  • Assist with the implementation of internal audit processes to ensure accuracy of data and reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of all data in alignment with donor privacy preferences and OMHS policies
  • High school diploma or higher education; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
  • Two+ years work experience in an administrative/data entry role or customer relations field
  • Experience with data entry
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail; ability to multitask with good followup skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive and helpful attitude with superior customer service skills
  • Experience working with volunteers and nonprofits an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • An independent selfstarter who works well with other team members
  • A demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people
