    Description

    The Registered Nurse provides a leadership role within the client care team and provides care in situations in which the client's condition is complex and the client care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the client.

    Required:

    • Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
    • Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire
    • Minimum 2 years current Emergency/Acute care related nursing
    • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.)
    • Current Advanced Pediatric Life Support (P.A.L.S)
    • Proven ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
    • Must be able to fulfill all physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
    • Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
    • Demonstrated competencies in arrhythmia interpretation
    • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, colleagues and the interprofessional team
    • Demonstrated experience working independently and within a team setting
    • Demonstrated excellent problem solving ability, critical thinking and organizational skills
    • Commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
    • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

      Preferred:
    • Participation in the RNAO and or ENAO (Emergency nurses association of Ontario
    • Current Trauma Nursing Critical Care Core Course (T.N.C.C.)
    • Coronary Care - Level 1
    • Coronary Care - Level 2
    • Certified in phlebotomy starts
    • NVCI or equivalent

      Assets:
    • Bilingual - English and French
    • Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale Certification (CTAS)
    • Emergency or Critical Care Certification
    • Mechanical Ventilation
    • Advanced training in Physical assessment
    • Wound and burn care
    • Neuro Care
    • P.C.A pumps
    • Computerized documentation (Meditech Expanse)
