- Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-one-on exercises with assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
- Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.
- Assist residents with walking, sitting and safe transferring.
- Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
- Perform treatments such as applying ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax etc.
- Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors and teammates.
- Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
- Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
- Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
