Position purpose:

Under the supervision of the CPSR's Director and within the standards of the profession of psychology, provides leadership in the management of clinical activities of psychological services, such as the coordination of the case assignment process, management of secure systems, and administrative operations, such as the management of financial, human and physical resources, to ensure the CPSR's optimal operations and to maintain the success of the clinical psychology program, while protecting the accreditation of the program.


In this role, your main responsibilities will include:


  • Coordinates clinical activities: Manages the case assignment process and progress while respecting the standard of professional ethics expected of an environment delivering psychological services. Assigns the emergency telephone and ensures appropriate follow-ups with the supervisor or Director of the School of Psychology. Acts as a resource person to interns, clinical supervisors, clinical training coordinators, and the Director of the CPSR regarding regulations and administrative procedures. Train the interns and clinical supervisors on clinical file management. Conducts follow-ups for clinical reports pertaining to client files and evaluates the performance of interns in their administrative responsibilities.

Management of client accounts:Analyzes the financial situation of all new patients (arriving at the clinic in distress) to establish a sliding fee scale for the services they require. Assesses the situation of clients with particular needs (e.g. personal bankruptcy) and decides on the cost and method of payment. Responsible for billing, management of accounts receivable and follow-ups on overdue accounts.

Administrative management: Develops and manages filing systems for clinical records. Manages and organizes administrative, financial and academic records. Develops and implements methods and procedures to ensure confidentiality. Develops and modify account management tools, forms and databases. Produces reports using these tools.

Financial resources: Plans, manages and controls the operational and revenue budget. Plans and submits budget forecasts. Responsible for the cost recovery of tests, photocopies, faxes, long-distance calls and courier services for all CPSR administrative staff, faculty members, students, coordinators and the Director.

Human resources management:Responsible for staffing, training, supervising and evaluating employees. Develops and implements work procedures and tools to improve staff performance and the quality of administrative services.


What you will bring:


  • Knowledge of clinical psychology generally acquired with an undergraduate degree in psychology.
  • Knowledge and experience in administration principles and practices normally obtained through a postsecondary education or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years in an administrative position in a clinical setting. Experience in operations management in a healthcare/clinical setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and crisis management skills.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring the sharing and protection of highly confidential information.
  • Experience in planning, analyzing and controlling budgets using an electronic budgeting system.
  • Experience in human resources management (recruitment, supervision, evaluation and training).
  • Excellent judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.
