As an After School Program Leader, you will embark on an exciting journey of imagination and growth, working collaboratively with a team of fellow leaders.

Together, you will orchestrate a wide array of engaging activities and programs, making every afternoon an adventure for children aged 4 to 12.


Responsibilities:


Leadership

  • Shows commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Club and its mission.
  • Practice & implement the organization's Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Communicate professionally, honestly, and fairly with members, colleagues, and parents.
  • Must set an example of professionalism in the community.
  • Required to sign up for BGCU and complete training modules.
  • Attends all designated meetings and training opportunities as assigned.
  • Promotes safety of members, and quality in programs.
  • Provides guidance and is a role model to members.
  • Treats all members with respect in all interactions.
  • Program calendars are followed.

Daily Duties

  • Employee is on time to work every day and calls supervisor if running late.
  • If calling out, Employee is to contact supervisor by 11 a.m.
  • Employee follows Dress Code Policy as stated in the Employee Handbook including visibly wearing ID badge.
  • Employee will prepare materials for daily activity prior to members' arrival.
  • Helps with additional tasks and is flexible to provide assistance in other areas.
  • Posted cleaning schedule is followed daily. Duties include the assistance of sweeping daily, tidying, and mopping on designated days.
  • Daily decisions are based on BGCGH goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Any and all concerns in regard to responsibilities, programs, members, parents, staff or Club policies are immediately discussed with supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required with some postsecondary experience or a combination of experience.
  • First Aid Certifications required and will be provided.
  • Ability to organize and supervise children and handle difficult behaviors.
  • Ability to work with a team and hold your fellow staff members accountable.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for children.
  • Knowledge of the Club's mission, programs, and resources.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
Must be available to work Monday - Friday 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, with possibility of extended hours.

Training provided. Certification in First Aid, High Five and NVCI.

Experience with child care an asset.


Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

$17.25 per hour
