Who we are:


Reporting to the Wine, Spirits, and Beer Team Leader - Cornerstone responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Demonstrate day to day behaviours and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative's vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach
  • Consult with and provide product recommendations and expert advice to customers within the liquor retail locations to create a legendary customer experience
  • Create and maintain order guides and followup with commercial accounts on a regular basis
  • Prepare and submit weekly orders to local suppliers and complete SLGA special orders as required by team leader
  • Manage the administration of tasting room events including creation, description, web posting, ticket pricing and post event recaps
  • Manage and host all aspects of our tasting events including set up, presentation, delivery, and clean up
  • Manage all aspects of our various WSB clubs including set up, presentation, delivery and administration
  • Work with offsite tasting event venues to create and deliver partnered events
  • Manage the personal wine locker program and ensure locker members are satisfied with their monthly selections
  • Support the locker program with occasional memberonly tasting events and quarterly newsletter
  • Manage growler bar keg inventory and selections, keeping pointofsale and signage up to date
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance staff product knowledge
  • Understand retail margins and work to ensure maximum profitability is obtained
  • Provide direction on inventory management, create action plans to remove slow moving or deleted wines from the current inventory, and recommend replacement wines
  • Have familiarity with all store operations and supervise the operational team in their daily duties
  • Maintain a safe and efficient area while adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards in social responsibility
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and daily reconciliations as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and Customer Service and:

  • You must be 19 years of age or older with minimum three years' experience in the hospitality or retail liquor industry
  • You must possess or be willing to obtain Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2 (WSET 2) and Serve It Right certifications; training will be provided to the successful applicant
  • You are honest and trustworthy, are results oriented, and strive to be the best in the work that you do
  • You must possess thorough and uptodate knowledge of wine, spirits and beer products and trends.
  • You have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to successfully motivate and work with team members
  • You have the ability to lift and load products; extensive physical labour is required
  • You must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license for sporadic day or overnight travel through the trading area for events and training
  • Experience in social media marketing will be considered an asset
  • Applicants must have a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays and other WSB Events (Tastings)
