Description
The Human Resources Manager provides assistance and leadership aimed at helping EnQuest Energy Solutions Inc. achieve its organizational objectives. This individual ensures that the Human Resources Department and EnQuest Energy Solutions Inc. are in compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation.


Partnering with Operations, the Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function in a fast-growing company.

The HR Manager assists the management team with human resources needs, including employee benefits, employee relations, training and development, recruiting, and personnel policy and procedure administration.

The Human Resources Manager ensures compliance with employment-related laws and regulations, administers the benefit plans, oversees the employee performance evaluation process and payroll process, develops and interprets personnel policies and procedures, and advises management regarding employment-related issues.


Primary Functions & Responsibilities

  • Acts as a primary contact for employee questions about HR matters.
  • Facilitates completion of routine HR functions such as preparation and maintenance of employee files; ensuring data integrity in HR systems and reports; and developing and maintaining position descriptions.
  • Provides guidance for change management initiatives.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Works with executive management to evaluate and identify human resource needs within the organization and develop an action plan to address such needs.
  • Provides personnel recruiting support and strategy to ensure the company attracts the best talent.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Conducts exit interviews and recommends action items and changes as applicable.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manages payroll process and completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a fouryear university in a related field (Human Resource Management preferred).
  • Skilled Human Resources professional with 57 years of experience and the demonstrated ability to build organizational capability.
  • CPHR Certification preferred.
  • Strong experience in recruiting and selection activities for all levels of employment.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects the privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
  • Time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership and staff.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs, develops solutions and/or options.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
