Assistant, Safety and Training - North Bay, Canada - Redpath Mining
Description
This position provides assistance to the Safety /Training department with safety administrative tasks and general office duties including but not limited to data entry, record keeping/updating, filing, scanning, supplies and travel.
This position provides on-going support to the Safety department, Redpath field offices and sites by providing information, supplies, and general assistance in support of health and safety initiatives.
- Primary point of contact for Health, Safety and Environment department
- Support and assist Safety Coordinators with their tasks
- Safety and Training support for offices and sites in the following areas:
- Make travel, conference and meeting arrangements
- Assist with prescription safety glasses coordination with projects and prescription safety glasses provider.
- Compile safety start kits, supplies, documentation,
- Safety awards tracking, verifying, communication along with ordering and distribution
- Support coordinators with Safety Day, Canadian Operation Safety Kickoff and Pathways to Excellence arrangement and coordination activities
- General office duties as required ordering lunches, book boardrooms, mail, memberships, subscriptions, expense reports, etc.
1-2 years' office experience
Preferred experience: 1-2 years' experience in a related environment (mining, construction with respect to safety)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe programs. Experience in Oracle an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Bilingual, English and French, an asset.
