An established private golf & curling club located west of the GTA.

This magnificent facility has been in existence for over 90 years and boasts a community-centred culture, year round sports and events, a gorgeous clubhouse and a passionate team of employees and Management.


About the Role.


Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a seasoned team and managing all back of house operations.

You will be a hands-on team member who will keep this year-round operation energized and elevating for its valued members and guests.


You are an experienced Executive Chef, Culinary Administrator and Manager with a high sense of ownership, accountability, credibility,and creativity You are impeccably organized and detail oriented, which allows you to multi-task with ease.

You are a natural leader, mentor and motivator to your team and lead by example.


If hired to this role, your main responsibilities in this role will focus on the following

  • Oversee backofhouse operations;
  • Hire, train and manage all kitchen staff;
  • Set and manage the staffing schedule;
  • Lead all preshift meetings;
  • Develop recipes and menus;
  • Manage all required maintenance needs for the kitchen;
  • Oversee both Banquet and A La Carte outlets;
  • Determine plating and presentation plans;
  • Manage all purchasing activities;
  • Order and evaluate the quality of new food;
  • Ensure the kitchen is stocked with necessary supplies;
  • Maintain all sanitation, food handling and health and safety standards, as imposed by governing criteria;
  • Achieve consistent financial targets for food and labour;
  • Set and implement the kitchen policies and procedures;
  • Attend weekly Operations meetings;
  • Attend biweekly F&B meetings;
  • Attend quarterly F&B Committee meetings;
  • Be an active member of the Management team and foster the Club's positive culture at all times.
  • At least 5 years' direct experience in a similar Executive Chef role (preferably in a multioutlet, golf club or hotel/resort environment);
  • At least 3 years' direct experience leading, mentoring and motivating a culinary team with varied experience levels;
  • A degree or diploma from a recognized University or College;
  • Sound knowledge and experience in creating seasonal recipes and menus;
  • Excellent knowledge of current culinary trends;
  • Sound knowledge of all required health & safety standards and a commitment to ensuring team members follow all required safety and food handling procedures;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with Clubhouse Manager, Restaurant Supervisor and Management team;
  • Commitment to ensure the highest quality of Guest/Member experience;
  • A collaborative and handson approach during busy times to ensure operational excellence;
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Flexibility of hours to accommodate seasonal business needs (i.e. golf season, events, weddings).

While not "mandatory" for this role, some "nice to have" qualifications would include:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Standard First Aid Certification

Compensation package includes;

  • Competitive base salary
  • Eligibility for annual discretionary bonus

  • Three (3) weeks' paid vacation and lieu time during "off season"
