Lead Business Systems Analyst


The Wealth Data team within the Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) team is key area in meeting the operational data needs of the various stake holders within Wealth Management.


Is this role right for you?

  • Providing leadership in analysing and acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources mapping data to the data model and creating mapping specifications
  • Work with the team in building the infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation and loading data from variety of data sources using multiple interfaces such as batch, streaming and API's
  • Take ownership of assigned data domains and be a single point of contact
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the organization on how Wealth data within the domain is structured and maintained within the data store
  • Documents, plans for collection, data cleansing, and normalization of data
  • Recognize common requirements and document reusable code and procedures to improve the team's efficiency and productivity.
  • Work with the development team to handover the detailed data layer mapping for coding
  • Evaluation of data identified from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and classification of data in logical categories
  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Participate in technical design sessions, working with technical resources, to provide insight during solution development
  • Participate in Sprint planning and estimation efforts to implement the user story

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Ideally 10+ years' experience in technical system analysis leading data projects.
  • Ideally some experience in ETL work with knowledge of ETL tools such as DataStage and Talend
  • Highly analytical and good understanding of databases, technical architecture and query tools
  • Advanced skills using Excel spreadsheet and VBA. Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience gathering requirements, system analysis and creating technical specifications
  • Ability to effectively convey ideas to business and technical teams
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala etc
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and toolset such Cloud Composer, Dataproc, CloudSpanner etc.
  • Knowledge of data streaming and technologies such as Kafka, Sparkstreaming etc.
  • Ideally some handson experience in ETL work with knowledge of ETL tools such as DataStage and Talend
  • Experience working in Agile/ Lean delivery teams
  • Ability to adapt and quickly adjust to change
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Should be a team player and work collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Previous experience in Wealth management and/or banking systems highly desirable
