Couples Therapist – Independent Contractor - Belleville, ON KN P
23 hours ago

Job description
Okay, real talk.
Couples therapy is hard, important work. We know it. You know it. And we also know that the people who do it best aren't just clinically sharp - they know how to laugh, exhale, and leave work at work (at least most days).
Hope Harbour Psychotherapy is growing in Belleville, and we have couples actively waiting for the right therapist. If you're skilled at sitting with two people who are convinced the other is the problem, and you can do so with both compassion and a quietly steady nerve, we'd love to meet you.
About Hope Harbour Psychotherapy
We've been supporting individuals, couples, and families for over 10 years, and for just over a year in Belleville. Our mission is to empower people to overcome challenges and live fulfilling lives through evidence-based therapy, a genuinely collaborative team, and a culture that takes work-life rhythms seriously.
We work hard. We also laugh a lot. The work we hold is heavy, and we think a team that can find levity together is a team that lasts.
Authentic Communication | Embrace Work-Life Rhythms | Innovative Approaches | Work Hard, Play Hard
What This Role Offers
We handle the business side so you can focus on the actual reason you became a Therapist.
- Referrals from an existing waitlist, you won't be cold-starting
- Competitive contractor compensation
- Full admin support through JaneApp: scheduling, billing, and client communication are handled
- A beautiful office with big windows and free parking
- Flexible scheduling: days, evenings, weekends - built around your actual life
- Peer consultation and supervision available if needed - because no one should process this work alone
- A team that communicates, collaborates, and occasionally sends a meme in the group chat
What You'll Be Doing
Your primary focus will be couples therapy - helping partners move from gridlock to genuine connection. There's also room to see individual clients as your caseload develops.
You'll bring evidence-based approaches to the room, such as Gottman, EFT, or other established frameworks, with the support of a structured practice behind you.
This is independent contractor work. You set your schedule. We handle everything else.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), Registered Social Worker, or Registered Psychologist in Ontario
- Specialized training in Gottman Method and/or EFT is a strong asset; solid hands-on couples experience is equally valued, we care more about what happens in the room than what's on your certificate wall
- Genuine warmth and the ability to hold space for two people who may both be absolutely convinced they're right
- Strong communication skills with clients, with colleagues, and yes, in your cover letter
- A sense of humour and the self-awareness to know when to use it (and when not to)
Sound Like Your Kind of Place?
Send us your resume and a cover letter that tells us a little about how you work with couples and why this role caught your attention.
We're a growing team doing meaningful work, and we take both seriously. If that resonates, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
