Summary Description:
The Junior Project Manager/ Estimator is responsible for working with the Senior Project
Managers in estimating and controlling the assigned budget and timelines throughout job lifecycle. They are responsible for coordinating customer accounts and having a value-added
Partnership with each customer.
They are responsible to estimating and coordinating the daily details of the project, including material purchases, subcontracting, changes and communication of office and field activities.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Maintain uptodate Job or Quote files.
- Study and understand the contract documents of each project before, as well as after estimating to determine areas, including provisions of the general or special conditions, that may be ambiguous or present problems or result in unforeseen costs. Such matters should be brought to the attention of the Senior Project Managers.
- Investigate conditions at the jobsite prior to bid to understand and evaluated site accessibility, surface and underground conditions and any condition that would affect construction methods and costs.
- Estimate accurately each job and review the estimate with the Senior Project Manager in enough time to permit careful analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary.
- Coordinate the purchase of materials with the purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate subcontractors when required and for work awarded at the most competitive price.
- Prepare at various stages (prebid, post award, etc.) and update as necessary the job progress schedule in coordination with the Shop/Fabrication Manager.
- Coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with progress schedule and adjust as necessary due to changes.
- Resolve, or assist in resolving, design and detail problems with owners, design agents, and subcontractors.
- Attend preconstruction, job meetings and project meetings.
- Prepare periodic percent completion data for job cost report and monitor to correct mis
- Analyze job cost reports to determine recommended action on overruns and ascertain opportunities for change orders.
- Approve invoices to be charged to the job.
- Review customer invoicing and approve.
- Maintain estimate, plan files and job files and monitor maintenance of applicable contract files.
- Estimate and submit timely change proposals to the design agent or owner. Prepare and execute change orders between the company and architect and subcontractors.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a strong background in customer service with customer engagement.
- Must be highly motivated with strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and very organized.
- Experience estimating and managing self performed work activities and subcontracted work.
- Proficient with computer software and ability to read blueprint and drawing notes.
- Understands means and methods of construction associated with the construction and renovation of industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings.
- Has a working knowledge of the cost of goods and services; has a demonstrated ability to solicit, evaluate and manage the price, schedule, and quality objectives of individual projects.
- Understands the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules.
- Understands project cost control and change order management.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Must be able to comply with company and customer safety procedures.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, climb and carry 50lbs.
- Must obtain a valid G license.
Salary:
$65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
