  • Position Summary
  • We are hiring for an Estimator to work out of our office in Fredericton, NB. In this role, you will be responsible for developing conceptual and firm price estimates for wastewater treatment projects. You will also have the ability to work with a dynamic group of engineers, technicians, and support staff on projects across the globe.
  • Core Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Develop estimates for engineering, equipment, and construction of proposed wastewater systems.
  • Use AutoCAD to develop preliminary layouts for quantity estimating.
  • Work with other internal Xylem team members for equipment pricing.
  • Contact external vendors for equipment pricing.
  • Create request for quotes for major subcontracting tasks.
  • Develop preliminary schedule for proposal.
  • Attend pre bid meetings when required.


  • Position Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Technology degree, or related discipline with 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Experience estimating in the industrial construction sector preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and MS Project
  • Proficient with AutoCAD
  • AutoCAD 3D experience considered an asset
  • Must be able to multitask and work in fastpaced environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documents


  • Additional Details

  • Some short term travel within North America may be required (10% travel)
  • Must be able to travel between Canada and US
