Contract Duration:
Up to 16 Months

Do you want to learn about the
LCBO? Are you detail oriented? Are you good at documenting and evaluating processes to find out if risks are being managed and recommend solid solutions if they are not? Do you have a background in risk-based auditing? Are you interested in helping our organization succeed? Have you used data to help you make planning decisions, in audit testing, or dig deeper into anomalies? Can you work independently as well as part of a team?

You will work as a member of different audit teams that report into one of our Audit Project Managers. You will be doing risk-based auditing across our organization. Our audits are performed in full compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards. We use TeamMate+ and leverage technology whenever we can.

Our audit shop is customer focused, independent from management, and we strive to provide advice our customers can build on.

We work on continuously improving our processes and practices, through new developments and innovation.

About the Role

  • Perform audits using our methodology; meet our working paper documentation standards; and obtain sufficient, reliable, and useful evidence to substantiate your findings and conclusions.
  • Develop and document process narratives and flowcharts, risk and control matrix, planning memorandum, and audit programs.
  • Use data analytics to support your work where practical and useful.
  • Find opportunities for process optimization, cost control and revenue improvements.
  • Meet deadlines for completing assigned work.
  • Communicate audit results to appropriate levels of management and discuss observations noted during the course of the audit.
  • Support efforts to continuously improve and innovate audit practices.
About You

  • An accounting and/or audit designation (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) or a Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related area.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial, operational, and value for money auditing.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in audit techniques and methodologies, and data analytics.
  • Solid knowledge of risk assessment processes, and fraud detection and corrective measures.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
  • Experience in TeamMate+ (or other audit management software).
  • Strong proficiency in creating process flow charts, process narratives, and identifying process risks and controls.
