    Job Profile:

    Lions Housing Centres Inc. is recruiting for a permanent full-time day Resident Care Manager (RCM) position. This position is responsible for the overall leadership and management of a unit in a long-term facility, while also being a key player in the organization's quality improvement initiatives. In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the day RCM strives to ensure the highest quality of resident care.

    Some Responsibilities:

  • Ensures use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to deliver safe, quality care.
  • Directs, plans and coordinates delivery of resident care with members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care and meets or exceeds Regional, Provincial, and National standards.
  • Evaluates delivery of care, Resident outcomes, and resident and staff satisfaction.
  • Ensures policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines are current, available and utilized to facilitate the delivery of appropriate safe care.
  • Facilitates effective and efficient discharges and transfers of residents in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
  • Familiar with and able to implement the Fire and Disaster Plan as well as policies and procedures related to security and Resident safety.
  • Establishes, monitors and evaluates departmental objectives designed to ensure quality of care consistent with the mission statement and philosophy.
  • Prioritizes care based on resident needs.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote effective communication with residents, families, staff, external care agencies and care providers
  • Plans the unit resident care assignments to meet the care needs of Residents based on the level of acuity/complexity and staff expertise.
  • Monitors and manages performance issues in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to promote a safe and healthy environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Your education and qualifications:

  • Current registration with CRNM or CRPNM
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree (BN) is an asset.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably long-term care
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1 year experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of MDS
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible to change as situations warrant.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an expressed willingness to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Organizational skills, with a particular emphasis on time management.
