Description
A dog care associate is responsible for providing full range of care for the dogs at Alpha Paws dog training facility.
The job description includes the following tasks:
- Feeding animals
- Cleaning and sanitizing cages and bowls as well as other equipment
- Walking and playing with pets
- Administering medication
- Disposing of trash
- Cleaning animal waste, hair, spilled food, and other remains from the dog area
- Grooming animals
- Recording and reporting daily observations related to health and behavior
- Practicing and reinforcing training to improve obedience and correct serious behavioral issues
- Maintaining cleanliness of facility.
The following requirements are expected of a dog care associate:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience caring for animals will be advantageous.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and agile.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
- A passion for animal welfare and affinity for and love of dogs.
- Available to work during evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
Salary:
$17.00 per hour
