The Position
The Accounting Manager (bilingual - French) will be responsible for the accounting processes.

They will manage daily accounting operations and make sure that every critical function has a backup in place at all times.

Apart from maintaining existing policies, the Accounting Manager also creates new internal accounting policies.

This position addresses many accounting activities that include the support of forecast and budget activities, year-end audit preparation, financial reporting, payroll, and general ledger preparation.


Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the Director with workflow process improvement and pursuing special projects
  • Responsible for fullcycle accounting, AP, AR, budgeting, payroll and benefits
  • Working with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, and advising on their progress to enhance staff professional development
  • Handling personnel issues that relate to absenteeism, staff performance, and staff conflict
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department's workflow
  • Making sure members of the finance team meet all financial reporting deadlines
  • Responding to inquiries from the Director of Finance, and other highlevel Managers
  • Training and advising new and existing employees of nonroutine reporting transactions
  • Monitoring and analyzing the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Bilingual in French and English is required
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Quickbooks and Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana, Microsoft AX or Acomba a plus
  • Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
