PCS125 Winter Semester Hours Approx. 264 students
a) A part-time hourly appointment / one semester is for less than 9 hours in any one semester.
b) Course delivery in Winter 2024 will be in person.
c) Candidates hired for in-person courses will be required to carry out their teaching on campus.
d) TA/GA support is academically required to deliver this course/section. The successful applicant will be provided appropriate TA/GA support.

Class Schedule:
Thursdays 8 to 10 a.m. and Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Pursuant to the University's and as a condition of employment, all successful candidates will be required to either submit valid proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or receive a . Course delivery in Winter 2023 will be online, in-person or hybrid at the sole discretion of the hiring unit. Candidates hired for in-person courses will be required to carry out their teaching on campus. Candidates teaching remotely are required to have access to the appropriate technology, i.e. computer with camera and microphone and high-speed internet.
Qualifications
Evidence may be requested for all categories.
Education
PhD. in Physics or equivalent in field related to target course
Teaching Experience
Teaching target or similar course at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) undergraduate program or another university undergraduate program.
Practice field experience
Current (past 3 years) practice in related field of Physics Waves & Fields.
Current (past 3 years) practice in related field (depends on quality of experience, including relevance to course, level of responsibility, relevant professional accreditation, etc.)
Teaching Skills
Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative learning community with and between students in the course.
Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to course delivery and online D2L system.
Currency
Academic publications (refereed) in past 5 years.
Other demonstrated professional currency (practitioner writing, courses taken).
