PRIMARY FOCUS:


In this exciting opportunity, the Quality Control Technician is accountable for carrying out critical inspections in accordance with established standards and procedures and ensuring that they are reported and documented as per The Little Potato Company Quality Control Program.

This position implements, maintains, and improves the Quality Control Program to focus on product integrity and reliability.


This position will be on a temporary contract on the third shift (night shift) reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and will be based in our Edmonton Office.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collect samples of packed products from packaging lines.
  • Perform quality testing and record the results manually.
  • Confirm that finished products meet applicable regulatory and quality standards prior to their release.
  • Inform Supervisor immediately of any issues encountered during quality testing.
  • Follow internal procedure in case of a deviation.
  • Maintain proper documentation of quality testing results.
  • Work closely with machine operators and the graders.
  • Collect library samples from each production run.
  • Contribute to product traceability and recommend improvements to quality system procedures.
  • Shift work with the ability to work overtime & weekends, possibility of rotating shifts as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Quality control experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Ex: Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Positive, responsible individual capable of working effectively with limited supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as required.

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail required.
