Key Responsibilities/Scope of the Job

  • Oversee the representation of all Sobi Canada products & services to our customer base in order to generate and grow sales to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • This position will directly report to the VP, General Manager, Canada
  • Inspire and focus sales team to achieve the commercial aspiration for Sobi Canada
  • Define national and regional sales targets; this person will also ensure that these objectives are achieved or exceeded in a professional, compliant, ethical, and effective manner.
  • Align with crossfunctional partners to ensure the development and execution of strategic sales plans which are consistent with the outlined Sobi Canada vision and current market dynamics.
  • Support Key Opinion Leader [KOL] advocacy and execute a companysponsored learning activities/speaker programs as appropriate.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Partner with Head of Marketing and crossfunctional colleagues for strategic planning and the creation of approved materials for use by commercial staff members.
  • Identifies opportunities, trends, barriers, and market conditions in order to maximize sales performance.
  • Ensure roles, responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood among all internal team members
  • Leverage productivity metrics to support team attainment of assigned goals and objectives to ensure increased sales and profitability.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to a range of internal (e.g., executive team) and external audiences
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding and executing performance reviews for Sales Team direct reports
  • Perform all Company business in accordance with all relevant regulations as well as Company policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate high ethical and performance standards with all business contacts.
  • Travel at least 50%.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years pharmaceutical industry experience including proven success with overseeing specialty product sales, preferably with rare/orphan disease. Marketing experience strongly preferred
  • 3 years of experience managing fieldbased Pharmaceutical Sales Teams
  • BA/BS degree required with an Masters or advanced scientific degree desired
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Ability to communicate (written and verbal) preferred
  • Advanced expertise in Hematology, Oncology, Immunology is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in all respects of selling, i.e. technical knowledge, selling techniques, interpreting/analyzing data, and an indepth understanding of medical field and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous product launch and/or brand/portfolio growth experience in a highly competitive environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines
  • Strategic capabilities with ability to conceive, develop and implement multidimensional sales plans
  • Track record of successful budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking.
  • Experience managing direct reports and indirect reports while also contributing to crossfunctional teams.
  • Expertise with hiring, onboarding / training, and supervising subordinates; proven success with building and managing national sales teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting before executive staff
  • Current working knowledge of Canadian legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to partner with key internal stakeh
