The Opportunity

Reporting to the Territory Manager, this position is responsible for performing all aspects of shipping, receiving and warehouse organization.

You will be the primary focus for all inbound and outbound freight; shipment of goods to our customer via ground, air and ocean; initial quality control of inbound goods; overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse; and, in collaboration with others, will be responsible for inventory control.

In addition, this position also provides assistance and support to the valve assembly area.


What you will be doing

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Understanding of transportation and courier company's requirements for shipping valves, accessories, and numerous other items domestically and internationally
  • Loading and unloading of goods from trucks and containers
  • Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against packing slips or related documents
  • Quality control inspections of incoming goods
  • Starting NCR's and CAR's as appropriate
  • Picking orders from stock and preparing to ship orders ontime or early;
  • Tagging and labeling as per customer requirements
  • Packaging goods for transportation ensuring they are safely and securely packaged and labeled to arrive at our customer's location in the best condition possible
  • Preparing all related documents, weigh bills, packing slips, QA packages and other shipping ie export documentation as required
  • Using the tools provided to understand the upcoming shipment requirements

Inventory Control:

  • Picking goods accurately for outbound orders
  • Receiving goods and locating in the warehouse as appropriateStock
  • Label and locate as required


  • Order

  • Hold shelf, assembly or shipping immediately
  • Completing regular cycle counts; playing active role in annual inventory counts
  • Preparing paperwork and coordinating goods going offsite for 3rd party processing.

Warehouse:

  • Maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse;
  • Acquiring general knowledge of products and services offered by CGIS
  • Organizing and labeling inventory as required
  • Maintaining the quarantine area for nonconforming goods and ensuring follow up to clear them up is complete

As needed and/or assigned:

  • Other duties as assigned

About you

  • Proven experience with the shipping/receiving cycle
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Clear and definitive communications skills
  • General valve knowledge or industrial components experience will be valued
  • General knowledge on Export Procedures
  • Good understanding of rigging and lifting practises.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • General computer literacy with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy packages
  • Forklift certification
