The Company:

Baxter's Bakery is a fast growing, family owned and operated, BRC certified commercial bakery situated in picturesque Cobourg, Ontario.
The Baxter family has been in the bakery business since 2005 and takes pride in their delicious handcrafted bakery items with brands such as "Baxter's Bakery" and "Quinn's Baking Co".
Our mandate is simple: to produce high quality safe products for the food service and retail markets with our team members of the UFCW local 175.

Core Responsibilities:

Ensure that Quality Assurance department daily objectives are achieved in a timely manner, and in compliance with all applicable standard operating procedures (SOP's) and best practices.
Review daily BRC records for accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness.
Develop and validate facility sanitation in compliance with HACCP, BRC and sanitation standard operating procedures through swabbing and testing.
Review and make recommendations based on the results of laboratory testing on air quality, water quality and sanitation programs.
Initiate and complete new product approval process for all new products.
Complete new raw material approval process.
Conduct sensory evaluation of our finished products on a routine basis.
Assist in troubleshooting process quality deviations.
Maintain periodic testing of facility processes and bakery operations to ensure ongoing compliance with HACCP, BRC, internal company policies and industry standards.
Participate or lead GMP audits, internal audits, risk assessments, HACCP Plan reviews, etc.

Required Background:

years quality assurance experience in food manufacturing preferably with bakery or related industries
