Description

About us
Eli is the women's health company making continuous hormone monitoring possible. We empower people to understand their body every day and improve their health outcomes across their lives. Hormones are at the core of our health, yet they remain a black box.

Eli is on a mission to unlock this box by developing a product that provides real-time and lifelong insights from saliva.

We are a diverse, intentional, and fast-moving team driven by our mission.

You will work with a small group of experienced engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of at-home testing by developing and commercializing new technology.

Eli is a venture-backed and early-stage startup. You can visit our website or check out recent press articles to learn more about us.

About the role
Eli is looking for a Literature Review & Insights Intern.

You will be a member of our Product team, helping us understand the connections between the hormones we're measuring and the insights and recommendations we can provide to our users.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Connect the dots between existing literature around hormones in our target markets, what insights will benefit users, and what credible recommendations we can provide.
  • Document your findings and make them applicable to Eli's user experience and business model.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team and the Product Manager to align your findings with the current product development and the overall product roadmap.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Manager to see how your findings fit into the regulatory strategy.
  • Consult with Eli's medical advisors to validate the relevance of your research findings to the clinical setting.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our users by participating in customer validation calls and reviewing customer research.
  • Understand what insights and recommendations our competitors are providing to their users, and what information is most valuable to users to have when it comes to their hormones.
This description is not exhaustive. You will have a lot of autonomy over your work as Eli's technology and research efforts progress.

About you

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in health sciences, biology, chemistry, kinesiology, premed, women's health, or a related field. Having an interest or background in business or entrepreneurship is appreciated.
  • You have experience summarizing and critiquing research methodology, drawing your own inferences/conclusions alongside the authors' conclusions, and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
  • You have experience in reviewing scientific literature and using tools such as Pubmed, scihub, and Google Scholar.
  • You are excited about chasing and validating prioritized hypotheses while cutting through the noise.
  • You are excited that your work contributes to achieving a marketready and massproduced product with a strong mission.
  • You are passionate about building a company with the potential to positively impact women's health and advance our understanding of it.
  • You are excited to continuously learn about women's health and why we need to change the status quo.
  • You love the scrappy earlystage startup phase and value having a widereaching impact in an ambiguous, constantly evolving, and fastpaced environment.
  • You think creatively about openended problems and solve them proactively; you have the talent and work ethic to drive your own work.

If you don't exactly match the description but still believe you are the right person to join the team, please reach out.

We value mindset and character.

Why you'll love working at Eli

  • You'll be part of the development of a novel technology pushing the bounds of scientific and engineering innovation, as well as the excitement of bringing this gamechanging technology to market for the first time.
  • You'll have unlimited vacations with mandatory time off. We enjoy working hard and also highly value having a balanced life.
  • You'll have full control over your schedule. We value trust, autonomy, goals, and elevating each other, not micromanagement.
  • This job can be remote, but if you are in Montreal you'll have access to our office space where you can get to know the local team and connect in person.
