Position Summary
The SqDC Business Coordinator (BC) will take a proactive role in the smooth operation of the SqDC business functions.

The BC performs a range of routine and non-routine tasks including implementing and maintaining business processes and supports, preparing reports, and developing and maintaining systems.

The BC will also be responsible for supporting external communications, website content management, creation of the Annual Report, planning and deployment of conferences and events, and marketing and sales support.

This position calls for a confident and articulate individual who can effectively support a diverse group of stakeholders with a range of requirements, deadlines, and schedules.

What you'll do
The Business Support & Outreach Coordinator, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or designate, will be responsible to:

  • Research, apply, and follow-up for applicable business grants and funding.
  • Assist SqDC in the development and building of strategic partnerships (industry, government, universities, and other)
  • Assist and support the marketing strategy of SqDC retail and commercial operations.
  • Provide research and due diligence support to the Proposal Writer and Communications Coordinator as required.
  • Maintain and update the SqDC website as required.
  • Provide support to the development of the SqDC Annual Report
  • Provide ongoing outreach and engagement of SIB members regarding SqDC business and commercial activities, via electronic updates, surveys, writeups, newsletter submissions, and bulletins.
  • Support eBay and virtual selling (retail) platforms
  • Prepare monthly SqDC updates for the SIB newsletter.
  • Develop business plans and feasibility studies as required.
  • Prepare reports and provide business research as required.
  • Conduct analytical marketing studies.
  • Develop and support marketing strategies for SqDC
  • Provide support to the SIB Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative
  • Provide support to the SqDC volunteer intern, practicum, and coop programs.
  • Provide a monthly report of all workrelated activities. Duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Other Skills

  • Must have business, funding and grant writing experience and excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Business Equipment and

Computer Applications:
MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS Word: MS Office

  • Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
  • Additional Skills: supervise interns, Coop & Practicum Students, and perform administrative tasks.
  • Commitment to ethical behaviour with a willingness to adhere to all company policies and current employment regulations.
  • Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality agreement, SqDC Policies and Procedures
  • Valid BC Driver's License; Class 5 & clean Driver's Abstract
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Sto:lo culture, history, traditions, and language is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.
