Business Development Manager Job Description


ExpensePoint is a SaaS-based expense management company looking for an exceptional and driven leader responsible for managing and organizing our sales team.


You are responsible for developing a business plan, meeting planned goals, and coordinating with our marketing department on lead generation and will report to the COO.


You will oversee the activities and performance of your sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitating the ongoing training of your salespeople.


We are looking for you:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.
  • With excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A fast learner with the ability to become a product expert in record time and sell
  • A team leader with proven experience in sales (previous experience as an exceptional Business Development Manager is required)
  • You know your way in and with SaaS companies or in the IT industry (previous related experience is preferred)
  • Knowledge of accounting and the travel industry is an asset
  • Experienced in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Experienced in customer relationship management and CRM systems
  • With focus and dedication to providing outstanding customer service

Your responsibilities as our Business Development Manager:

Management

  • Manage corporate sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, and expense controls.
  • Set individual sales targets with the sales team
  • Track sales goals and report progress to the COO
  • Manage the sales team's performance by monitoring achievement, customer satisfaction, and growth targets
  • Prepare an annual sales budget
  • Ensure relevant sales reports are completed on time
  • Monitor sales activity of staff and take appropriate action where necessary
  • Participate in joint customer calls with the team when necessary
  • Manage strategic sales partnerships Effectively manage largescale, complex contract negotiations, and oversee implementations
  • Take lead role in responding to client RFI's and RFP's

Training

  • Team up with our training team to ensure that your team is always up to date with all our sales training and knowledge
  • Coach your team. Empower and motivate your team and boost their skill development and product knowledge education

Evaluation

  • KPI accountability and tracking: account acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Develop performance plans for the team by following company policies
  • Provide regular feedback to the sales team on performance

Lead Generation

  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation.
  • Take an active role in the market to identify new lead generation opportunities
  • Develop & implement strategies, including campaigns to facilitate increased sales productivity
  • Support the sales team in proactively identifying opportunities to develop new business

Salary: You are expected to aim for $100K/year or more
Base salary of $75,000 plus no cap commission per year
