Job purpose/mandate
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Supervisori s an important member of the management team. The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day
operation of the administration and accounting group which consists of 6 accounting staff.

Specific duties and responsibilities
Transaction recording and reconciliations
- ensure that the accounting records are complete and accurate;
- ensure that underlying transactions are appropriately recorded on the accrual basis of accounting;
- oversee account reconciliation for GL accounts to supporting detailed reports;
- review supporting accounting reconciliations to the GL;
- close the transactional month-end on the company schedule;
- assist with quarter end and year end processes, including assistance with year end audit; and
- identify anomalies/variances from expected results, with interpretive analyses.

Management
- mentor direct reports on the administration and accounting team;
- provide adequate supervision to the administration and accounting team to allow for the timely and accurate recording of transactions;
- manage the workflow of the team to ensure productivity and efficiency by matching responsibilities to the strengths of each team member;
- provide on-going support to the other members of the finance team; and
- support other departments in the company in their transactional and financial needs.

Software, systems and processes
- domain expertise for accounting and contract management software;
- implement data mining techniques and data analysis;
- support change and new system implementation; and
- oversee the transactional month end timing and process including maintenance and implementation of software related solutions.

Accounting processes and internal controls
- design, adapt, evolve, and document processes to ensure that all accounting and finance department requirements are met;
- ensure that the accounting team produces complete, accurate and timely reports; and
- participate in discussions and implementation of improvements to internal controls.

Knowledge and skills

4 year university degree, threeyear program Business Administration or Accounting Diploma from a Community College with commensurate work experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience supervising staff;
Data mining techniques and advanced use of Microsoft Excel including Pivot tables;
MS Office Suite proficient;
Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises ("ASPE") or International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS");
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services ("SSRS") and other similar data base analysis an asset;
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or other similar accounting systems;
Experience with ERP and accounting system implementation is an asset; and
Qualified to work in Canada on a permanent basis.

This is a hybrid position, 3 days in the office at 6 Gurdwara, Nepean, ON and 2 days' work from home.

Salary:
$65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
