Commissionaires Southern Alberta is responsible for providing professional security services for Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Suffield.

As part of our ever-expanding work force, we are looking for an ID Services/Fingerprint Technician for our Red Deer Office.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.


Job Purpose


Reporting to the Regional Administrator, the ID Services / Fingerprint Technician position is responsible to provide identification and fingerprinting services and the processing of records for security clearance purposes.


Skills/ Attributes Requirements

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Previous fingerprint equipment experience (Strong Asset)
  • Mandatory English fluency in oral and written communication
  • Multitasker, with selfdelegation and time management being essential skills for success in this position
  • Excellent customer service skill with the ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Ability to maintain moderately complex records
  • Display good decision making, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada
  • Level 2 Security Clearance
  • Previous Military/RCMP Experience is considered a strong asset
  • 5 years of customer service experience (preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform digital and manual fingerprint work for applicants and process Canadian Police Information Checks.
  • Prepare clearance certificates, contact clients when certificates are ready for pick up.
  • Perform reception duties including, but not limited to checking in appointments, processing applicants as needed, collecting fees, and issuing receipts.
  • Maintain daily data sheet relating to client needs and provide weekly counts relating to numbers, revenue, and net revenue.
  • Assist the Branch Administrator with the maintenance and control of clothing stores.
  • Assist the Branch Administrator with maintenance of employee personnel files.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
