POSITION MANDATE

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Technical

  • Coordinates assigned electrical and automation commissioning efforts.
  • Ensures accuracy of installation (code, design, testing, etc.) prior to bringing the system online.
  • Prepares formal documentation regarding testing and commissioning processes.
  • Provides field support including connecting systems and equipment, testing, etc.
  • Supports the electrical and instrumentation aspects of projects by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving technical problems.
  • Provides technical consultation and training to customers.

Maintenance

  • Maintains customers' systems and plants to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assists the onsite crew in addressing problems and troubleshooting; oversees corrections/solutions until the problem is resolved.
  • Acts as an experienced resource for control systems and automation.
  • Performs onsite tests and assessments using available tools; resolves identified issues by determining best solution and resources.

Engineering

  • Designs and procures system solutions based on customer requests.
  • Keeps customers informed on innovative technologies as well as technological and industry best practice opportunities that may contribute to their operations.
  • Researches and identifies expansion or additions to current system to enhance customers automation processes.

Departmental Support

  • Ensures work is completed in a safe manner.
  • Sells, promotes, and completes core TPS services.
  • Promotes on the job safety on all occasions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The position requires an Instrumentation
Engineering Technology diploma or
Engineering Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • The quality of work, decisions made and documentation submitted reflects the incumbent's specialist qualifications.
  • Peer reviews (e.g. manager review of the work) confirm expectations are met.
  • Customers' feedback on projects and the incumbent is positive.
  • Assigned projects or work assignments are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Resources are efficiently utilized.
  • The quality of the delivered work meets expectations.
  • Issues of concern or importance are communicated to the Manager in a timely manner.
  • Suggestions for technical solutions and/or project management improvements support the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Compliance with relevant policies, procedures, standards and practices, legislation and codes meet expectations.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Saskatoon, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Electrical &
Automation Commissioning: 1 year (preferred)

  • System Design,
Process Control: 1 year (preferred)
Control System Comissioning: 1 year (preferred)
