    About the role

    Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time, Financial Analyst, to join our Financial Planning and Analysis Team in Brampton or Ottawa, ON.

    In this role, you will provide strategic input into operational issues and will be accountable for the delivery of financial planning and analysis services, such as budgeting, management reporting, general financial support and forecasting that support the achievement of business objectives. You will support the achievement of broad business goals by being the point person for financial analysis needs of the business, including cost/operational analysis for current and future state.

    Formula for success

    • As a financial business partner, provides support to business leaders on all aspects of budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes for current and future organizational objectives
    • Manages the day-to-day financial activities to ensure compliance with established guidelines, processes, and identify cost saving opportunities
    • Conducts process improvement analysis and plays a key role to identify, establish, and maintain financial and non-financial key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Manages reports and special analysis as required and provides financial and business administrative services required by business unit leaders
    • Coach and improve the financial acumen and decision-making of the people you support

    Desired education and skills

    • Has a Canadian CPA designation or has a comparable accounting or finance designation and is actively enrolled in a Canadian CPA program.
    • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
    • Understanding and experience in the use of SAP, or an equivalent ERP is required. Proficiency in FI – Financial Accounting, CO – Management Accounting and Controlling, MM – Materials Management, WM - Warehouse Management SAP Module (or an equivalent ERP application) is beneficial.
    • Experience in IBM Analytics is beneficial.
    • Experience in a large not-for-profit or health care organization is beneficial.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills; client-focused thinking with the ability to develop trust and relationship at all levels and to become integrated into strategy and decision making of the business unit
    • Strong analytical skills including relating operational and financial data, summarizing complex information and highlight salient points in insightful ways to drive business decisions.

    An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
