Description

The Confederation Line Extension Project - one of the components of the City of Ottawa Stage 2 O-Train system - includes the design, construction, and financing of 27,5kilometres of light rail infrastructure.

The scope of work also includes 4 kilometers of cut-and cover tunnels, 20 engineered structures, 16 stations and a light maintenance service facility.

Kiewit/Eurovia/Vinci Ottawa Partnership are looking for their future Communication Systems Coordinator to work as a part of the OLRT East West Confederation Line Extension Project Systems Construction team.

Reporting to the system communication manager, the coordinator will plan and coordinate installation activities and on-site inspections and tests to comply with design specifications, requirements, and codes.

He / she fosters a spirit of enthusiasm; client focus and team building among the engineering and construction staff of the project team.

General Responsibilities:

Supervise, coordinate, and manage system communication subcontractors across multiple project sites (11 stations).
Review the organization, methods, and equipment of subcontractor for the execution of the project.
Ensure all work is performed safely. Conducts basic safety inspections, identifies, and corrects safety hazards, and leads by example in safety practices by implementing the project safety plan.
Analyze and provide updates regarding site readiness for system communication installation.
Review, interpret and update construction schedules (3weeks and 3months schedules). Ensure accurate progress of the project construction schedule and supports updates to planned dates and sequencing.
Weekly / monthly monitoring and reporting of KPIs (key performance indicators).
Ensure all subcontractors produce quality work that is constructed according to design drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
Assists in monitoring the quality plan, including conducting quality inspections.
Develop tracking sheets, punch lists and progress reports for purpose of monitoring all system communication installations.
Assist the system communication manager to deliver all system communication works.
Support the system communication testing and commissioning lead in all system communication test & commissioning activities as necessary.

Education and Experience:

Fluent in English (capable of leading discussions with the partners, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers and drawing up the reports)
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including supervisors and subtrade partners.
Valid driving license required.
Basic understanding and interpretation of network communication designs (an asset)
