GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

:


The role of the Customer Service Representative is to provide and maintain superior customer satisfaction in all transactions and communications, and to assist the growth of sales by supporting sales staff and customers.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

:

The specific responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative, while not limited to, include:

  • Handling all facets of customer order entry through delivery and receipt, including the handling and resolution of complaints
  • Obtaining all paperwork required for successful completion of transactions
  • Resolution of order issues including but not limited to the shortage of supplies and pricing inquiries
  • Managing returns of products by ensuring the process and procedure is adhered to
  • Obtaining proof of delivery for shipments
  • Processing preshipment samples and monitoring the approval and rejection of the samples
  • Determining which warehouse the customer order should be sourced from, with consideration paid to stock levels, age of the material, and customer requirements
  • Coordinating freight assignments on all delivered shipments in accordance with Company procedure
  • Recording requested and promised delivery dates in the system and ensuring the order is shipped to meet the expectation
  • Reporting all changes in consumption from customers to Purchasing and Sales
  • Reporting service issues (warehouse, freight, etc.) in accordance with Company procedure
  • Processing, updating, and maintaining all customer profiles and pricing information in the system
  • Providing backup telephone coverage to our Pearl River, NY office

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

:


  • Minimum 3 years of previous related experience in customer service, preferably a related industry (chemicals, pigments, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills when dealing with internal/external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve in order to resolve customer issues satisfactorily
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

:

Fully remote 8:00am-4:00pm EST (Standard office hours) - Flexibility
