As a Centralized Dispatcher at United Rentals, you will be tasked with organizing the daily dispatch of drivers for a metro area (GTA) in a safe and timely manner.

You will work closely with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps to ensure deliveries are properly scheduled and executed to guarantee superior customer service.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metroarea to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness
  • Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pickup and delivery orders come in
  • Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound
  • Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service
  • As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and proactive communication
  • Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations
  • Diligent attention to safety
  • Strong ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong leadership, organization and communication skills
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
