Who we are:

Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated recycling and waste management company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste.

We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region.

We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C.

and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.

Who we are looking for:

Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our North Vancouver recycling facility.

The position will look after recycling depot day-to-day activity such as depot walk-ins and phone inquiries, helping answer "where to take it" questions as well as handle some phone inquiries from our on-account customers with professionalism.

The position will report to our Recycling Manager and will be trained by the recycling team to support our recycling division with a range of duties, acquiring a range of skills and depending on the individual, assist in several recycling projects as needed.

Ideal Schedule:

9am-4pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays

21-24 hrs / week

Approaches tasks with a 'cando' attitude, is quick to learn, and is flexible to changing priorities, able to wear many hats.
Works well with others and is also comfortable working independently.
Enjoys talking to the public, and is comfortable answering questions about recycling, sustainability, and different options on how to handle materials as opposed to discarding or sending to landfill (North Shore area)
Has knowledge of or experience in assisting with social media platforms and generating onbrand content for a business or organization, ideally in the recycling or waste industry.
Has experience assisting with recycling programs, sustainability initiatives, or similar community events.
Has experience dealing with customers and monetary transactions.
Pays attention to the details, is reliable, and motivated to help.
