As an HR Generalist under the direct supervision of the HR Leader, your primary role will be to oversee the daily human resources operations of the organization.

In this capacity, you are expected to demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities and set a standard for others to follow. Your responsibilities include upholding and championing the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values consistently.

You will be instrumental in fostering a positive and welcoming work atmosphere, while diligently ensuring compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in handling various human resources functions, including but not limited to:


Key Responsibilities:


Employee Relations and Support:


  • Address and resolve HRrelated queries and requests from employees at all CONC locations.
  • Provide support in employee relations under the guidance of the HR Director.
  • Support managers with disciplinary and corrective actions, as necessary.
  • Act as a mediator in workplace disputes, helping to resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage employee leaves, the returntowork committee and oversee health and wellness programs.
  • Provide HR Training with Senior management team.

HR Administration and Compliance:


  • Manage routine HR tasks on a daytoday basis.
  • Organize, file, and maintain employee records and HR documents, ensuring uptodate HR databases.
  • Regularly update the Organizational Policy and Procedure Manual, including the employee handbook.
  • Monitor changes in labour legislation to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws.

Recruitment and Onboarding:


  • Assist with the full recruitment process including screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer presentations.
  • Develop and distribute onboarding materials for new employees.
  • Draft and revise job descriptions as needed.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientations for a smooth introduction to the organization.

Training, Development, and Performance Management:


  • Assist in developing and implementing performance evaluation systems.
  • Help managers with performance reviews, supervision planning and goal setting for employees.
  • Organize and oversee employee training sessions, workshops, and development programs.
  • Work with managers to Identify and develop highpotential employees for future leadership roles.

Diversity, Engagement, and Communication:


  • Design initiatives to boost employee morale, improve workplace culture, and increase job satisfaction.
  • Develop and promote diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Facilitate effective internal communication strategies.

HR Analytics and Policy Development:


  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, predict future needs, and make datadriven decisions.
  • Assist in creating and revising HR policies and procedures to align with organizational goals.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement:


  • Coordinate and participate in new HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Engage in and support continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Support the HR Director in local union negotiations and mediation.
  • Work on special projects & perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Completion of postsecondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CHRP designation or working towards.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Administrator role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, both in oral and written forms.
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
  • High level of adaptability, with the capability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with current HR practices and labour laws.
  • Experience in managing HR projects, demonstrating strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality in HR matters.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Must have a valid license and access to a vehicle.
