Toronto Star Summer Journalism Internship - 2023
Come and join the program that gave so many of Canada's journalists their start: the Toronto Star's Summer internship.
This is a chance to work at Canada's biggest newspaper.
This internship is for early-career journalists — college
- and university-level students or recent graduates who have less than five years of experience in the profession. You must have some form of journalism experience — previous internships or roles in a range of organizations, freelance or non-traditional outlets.
Interns work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment.
All Star internships are paid, contract positions.

Three examples of your journalism

Application should demonstrate

A range of storytelling skills, with a strong emphasis on news coverage
Proven ability to report thoroughly, write well and organize information
Multimedia experience, including social media, video, audio, digital producing and design and photography
Reporting experience outside school assignments and a demonstrated commitment to journalism as a career
Strong interpersonal skills

This is a notice of vacancy under Article 8 of collective agreement between Toronto Star Newspapers Limited and Unifor Local 87M.

The hours of work for this position will vary according to the assignment but will all conform to a standard 35-hour work week as described under the collective agreement.

This position will be located at 8 Spadina Ave in Toronto, Ontario.
