    Summary
    The IBMi Senior Technical Specialist will be responsible for managing customers various IT infrastructures and solving complex problems. He/she will also support administrators and technicians in the research and development of technological solutions.

    Main Responsabilities:
    • Carry out the administration and global maintenance of IBMi servers, telecommunications and security.
    • Perform infrastructure migrations, and operating system/software upgrades.
    • Install and configure IBM Power server virtualization tools (PowerVM, HMC, VIOs and others).
    • In-depth knowledge of security and logging on IBMi.
    • In-depth knowledge of software such as BRMS, Assure Security, Quick-EDD and PowerHA.
    • Integrate and optimize business processes.
    • Implement and support high availability (HA) solutions such as Quick-EDD and Assure Mimix.
    • Develop tools to assist operations (RPG, RPGLE and CLP).
    • Provide 3rd level technical support to R2i Customers and its Cloud environment.
    • Write all documentation, proposals, reports, analyses, technical specifications, estimates, or other documents related to the needs of the position - and obtain approval when required.
    • Monitor, analyze and report periodically on the performance of environments.
    • Share his/her expertise with the company in certain strategic projects.
    • Perform all other related duties as required by the Employer.
    REQUIRED PROFILE
    • Seven (7) years of experience, including four (4) years of experience in similar positions within the last five (5) years;
    • A College diploma (DEC), attestation of college studies (AEC) or bachelors degree (BAC) in network management or equivalent;
    • Excellent knowledge of IBMi and Power environments.
    • Ability to work in both French and English (spoken and written). The job requires proficiency in English at a professional level. The candidate will interact on a weekly basis either with R2i (2) offices in Ontario or with various English-speaking customers or business partners.;

    • Knowledge of Data Domain and External Storage (Storwize)
    • Use of monitoring tools: Zabbix, Nagios, Xymon
    • Knowledge in storage and networking, security
    • Knowledge of RPG
