Minimum Qualifications:

Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term.

You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based)

Responsibilities:


  • Requirements gathering: interaction with stakeholders, including customers, users, and internal teams, to understand their needs and document the requirements for the product. This involves conducting interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit relevant information.
  • User research: Conducts user research to gain insights into user behaviors, preferences, and pain points. This can involve conducting user interviews, usability testing, and analyzing user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Market analysis: Assesses the market landscape, competitive products, and industry trends to identify market opportunities and potential risks. This helps in positioning the product optimally and ensuring it meets market demands.
  • Defining user stories: Based on the requirements gathered, collaborates with the development team to define clear and concise user stories. User stories capture user needs, acceptance criteria, and any dependencies, enabling the development team to understand what needs to be built.
  • Prioritization and roadmap planning: Works with stakeholders to prioritize features and functionalities based on business value, user impact, and technical feasibility. They contribute to crafting a product roadmap that outlines the planned product iterations and releases.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration: Serves as a bridge between different stakeholders, ensuring effective cooperation between business, development, and design teams. They facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to align everyone's understanding and gather feedback.
  • Validation and verification: Collaboration with the development team to ensure that the developed product meets the defined requirements and user expectations. This involves coordinating product demonstrations, reviewing test plans, and participating in user acceptance testing.
  • Iterative improvement: Throughout the product discovery phase, continuously seeks feedback from users and stakeholders to validate assumptions and identify areas for improvement. They analyze data and metrics to assess the product's performance and suggest refinements.
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing: Maintains documentation of requirements, user stories, and decisions made during the product discovery process. They ensure that knowledge is effectively shared with the development team and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with product team: Collaborates closely with product managers to align the product vision and goals with the gathered requirements and insights. They provide inputs for product strategy, pricing, and feature prioritization.

Qualifications:

- background in Business Admin, Information Systems or Computer Science, UX/UI Design, Communication, Psychology, Industrial Engineering or Operations Management is an asset

  • Previous product owner/management experience or entrepreneurial experience is an asset
  • Good analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to handle exciting demands
  • Ability to build relationships with business collaborators and connect with precision in a technical environment
  • Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team and take initiative
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
  • Spanish language is an asset
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
