Position Summary


The Talent & Organizational Development Coordinator is accountable for a broad range of coordination and operational support to the Talent & Organizational Development portfolio within Human Resources including staff and leadership development programming and workshops, employee recognition and achievement initiatives, on-boarding programming, report generation, invoicing and budget reconciliation, participant and list management and other supporting activities.


The nature of the position requires an individual who is professional in nature, self-motivated and can manage multiple demands with simultaneous deadlines, who can plan ahead and anticipate needs, is highly organized and who has an interest in and knowledge of and background (work/education) in delivering training programs, event coordination, human resources and adult education.

This position has a university-wide mandate and is based at the Waterloo Campus.

The incumbent provides expertise in a multi-campus environment, requiring regular interaction, communication, and collaboration with community members at all Laurier campuses and locations.

The Coordinator ensures the unit's policies, programs and services are delivered equitably across all campuses and reflect the needs of the local community.


Accountabilities

Program Planning & Event Coordination:


  • Coordinates the planning, development, communication and coordination of the training calendar including training session and facilitator identification, participant registration, communication, marketing, logistics and session support and session evaluation
  • Coordinates the participant experience for programming and workshops, list management, communications, and postprogram followon material
  • Provides support to program facilitators (both internal and external) as required, for inperson and virtual training programs and events
  • Plans and manages the New Employee Onboarding program, _From Hire to Hawk_, and ensures content is relevant and current for orienting new employees to Laurier
  • Coordinates key Talent & Organizational Development events (Leadership and Staff Development speakers, Employee Recognition, Employee Achievement Awards)
  • Establishes positive relationships and acts as a point of contact for Talent & Organizational Development related inquiries from multiple stakeholders (staff, faculty, facilitators)
  • Provides support and coordination for the Employee Engagement Survey and resulting institutional action planning
  • Provides support and coordination for the Annual Performance Cycle
  • Coordinates internal committees and/or working groups as requested

Communications:


  • Manages web content for for the Talent & Organizational Development team
  • Contributes to the preparation of guideline documents and support materials (annual learning calendar, workshop materials)
  • Works with External Relations to create marketing materials for Talent & Organizational Development programming
  • Supports the development and communication of employee surveys, evaluations, assessments and focus groups related to Talent & Organizational Development initiatives and consolidates and summarizes results
