Position Summary:


This project is aimed at developing new methods for the cell-type selective control of therapeutic mRNA translation via protein-RNA binding interactions.


Main responsibilities will consist of:

  • Design, construct, and amplify DNA plasmids using bacteria
  • Conduct in vitro transcription of plasmid DNA to produce RNA using T7 RNA polymerase
  • Express and purify RNA binding proteins
  • Conduct analysis of RNAprotein binding interactions using biophysical echniques
  • Conduct in vitro mRNA translation experiments in the presence of RNA binding proteins
