Possess current certifications of Standard First Aid & CPR Level C, Life Saving Society National Lifeguard - Pool and Life Saving Society Swim Instructor.
Career Level
6 months of experience developing course content for swim classes and facilitation of material.
Hourly Rate
$18.50 per hour
Department, Unit or Project Description:
Athletics and Recreation; Aquatics Unit.
Teach students, staff and the community how to swim with an emphasis on teaching non-swimmers how to be competent and safe in the water.
Job Summary:
Responsible for planning and instructing a swimming class.
Accountabilities:
- Develop class plan for review by Supervisor.
- Lead swim classes following Life Saving Society standards.
- Complete participant evaluations and provide feedback to participants.
- Update and maintain files, correspondence and records in accordance with established guidelines.
- Complete all required set-up and takedown for class.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Possess current certifications of Standard First Aid & CPR Level C, Life Saving Society National Lifeguard - Pool and Life Saving Society Swim Instructor.
Experience: 6 months of experience developing course content for swim classes and facilitation of material.Assets:
The applicant should be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and educated in the principles of how to teach swimming.
