Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Manager, Sleep Disorder Centre, this individual will take directions from a Respiratory Therapist and/or Polysomnography Coordinator.

Responsibilities include cleaning of equipment required for sleep testing and overnight oximetry.

Prepares special monitoring devices such as home study recorders and pulse oximeters for setup by a Respiratory Therapist and maintains tracking sheets for equipment as to when they are sent out and returned.


Experience:


  • Previous experience in cleaning, organizing and equipment inventory would be an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Complete high school education Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Program required.
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.

  • Computer knowledge required.
  • Must be fluent in written and verbal English and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works within the Centre's core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.

Physical Requirements:


  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Work involves exposure to WHMIS products.
  • Position involves meticulous attention to detail, maintaining a clean, orderly and organized work environment and accuracy of patient records.
  • Individual must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be in good physical health without limitations affecting standing, walking or lifting.
  • Position involves some lifting of heavy equipment and supplies.


Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.

Effective April 1, 2024, Golden West Centennial Lodge will also be part of the WRHA legal entity.
