The bakery in Etobicoke which is dealing with baking doughnuts is currently looking for Maintenance Apprentice.


Location
:
Dundas and HWY 427

Job purpose:

To work with the maintenance manager and/or other apprentices/trainees in order to make sure all equipment are always in good working condition.

To ensure all machines are safe to use in the workplace for all employees working with them.


Key responsibilities and accountability:


  • Is punctual to work in order to attend to any issues that relates to equipment and the facility
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Troubleshoots machine problems and uses the right spare parts where necessary
  • Performs preventative maintenance and total productive maintenance activities on the machines to ensure smooth and constant machine operation
  • Makes sure all maintenance-related records are filled, accurate, and up to date
  • Understands how to read and interpret technical drawings related to the job
  • Quickly reacts to equipment issues when called upon by the production team
  • Sets up equipment to support production when called upon
  • Complies with company rules and standards according to GMP & BRC requirements
  • Works with other maintenance personnel to constantly organize, tidy, and maintain the 5S integrity of the maintenance workshop
  • Reports any deviation from standards or processes to management and/or the maintenance manager immediately
  • Suggests improvements on the machines
  • Responds quickly to work order requests under the guidance of the maintenance manager
  • Helps to maintain the spare parts inventory system
  • Inspects the facility daily to determine whatever things need attention and works with the maintenance manager to fix them
  • All other duties as assigned

Backup employee:
The maintenance manager of the facility. The maintenance manager is responsible to cover during their absence and cannot go on holiday at the same time as the maintenance apprentice

$23.00-$28.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- millwright: 5 years (required)
